Cazenovia Class of 1970

New Years tradition

Ice Swim

It's groundhog day and Doug is the crazy one looking for his shadow in the water ;-)
I don't know the others.
Ernie Balch

Regarding the new photo....
I vaguely remember you and Peter taking a dip in the lake while I stayed in the car keeping the heater running but I thought it was at the Pier and from the background of this picture it certainly wasn't taken there. Did you do this TWICE?
Patrick Kennedy

Jack says that he is helping Ed lower you into the water in that picture....What were you thinking???!!!
Kristen Lamb Ayer
Doug, Oh I recognize the photo alright. Jack, my brother, is the guy on the
left lifting you out and Ed Macaulay, my husband, is the one on the right
and I am probably under the large blanket in the racoon coat! Ah to be young
and foolish!
Betsey Ayer Macaulay

Well, this photo didn't get a lot of reaction.  My recollection is this:  One day in Latin class Betsey told us about a tradition that her grandmother had in years gone by: she and friends would cut a hole in the ice and take a "swim" on New Year's Day.  I foolishly suggested that we do it and Betsey accepted my "dare".  The photo tells the rest of the story...
